The Methodist Women meets once a month for devotions, study, service, mission and fellowship. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 1pm in the church fellowship hall. Fundraisers are held throughout the year to provide support for mission projects and to purchase needed items for the church. The Methodist Women annually hosts World Day of Prayer the first Friday in March, a Mother-Daughter Banquet in May, a Roast Pork Dinner in the fall, and a Christmas Tea featuring the Wilmington High School ShowCats in early December, all of which are open to the community. The Methodist Women places a rose on the altar to celebrate and recognize new babies born into the congregation. Campbell’s Soup Labels are collected for Marcy-Newberry and Red Bird Mission, and Bellettini Foods grocery store receipts are collected for a 1% rebate to be used for other projects.
The Methodist Women also meets monthly in smaller groups called Circles:
The Mary Ruth Circle meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 1pm for devotions, fellowship and project planning.
The Martha Circle is a service circle that serves funeral dinners for our church family.
The Lydia Circle meets on Thursday afternoons twice a month to sew items for missions.
